Identifying and understanding a vulnerable community, its root problem(s), and how the existing social system has created the problem(s)

Developing a shared solution (and narrative) for how to solve the community's problem(s)

Creating an action plan to achieve the desired solution by winning collective power - often through the political system

Building relationships, bringing people together, and educating them on how they can help carry out the plan

Keeping the plan moving forward toward its intended goal through trainings, actions, media relations, regenerative support, building solidarity and coalitions, and other strategies

See some tried and true basic steps below for creating positive change in communities, for bringing people together in shared purposes for the most relevant and impactful solutions. The framework used in our ACH project stems from these traditional methods. We are very grateful for the great variety of American social movements supporting many causes for hundreds of years. We are thankful for the sacrifices and guidance given to improve lives!
